Over the past few weeks, since inter-provincial travel was permitted within the borders of South Africa, Kapama has enjoyed hosting our local South African guests. It was wonderful for our team to once again welcome guests through our doors after such a long time. All while adhering to the strict health and safety COVID-19 protocols from the WHO as well as our World Travel & Tourism Council – WTTC ‘Safe Travels’ accreditation.
Our joy and excitement were elevated with the announcement from our President, Cyril Ramaphosa, on 16th September that South Africa will open its borders will open to International flights as of 1st October. This means that Kapama can not only continue to welcome local guests but very soon our International guests too. We look forward to once again sharing our beautiful wildlife, vibrant hospitality and rich culture with everyone as well as the magnificent new upgrades at Kapama River Lodge.
For those of you who were not aware, Kapama River Lodge underwent a major revamp during the lockdown period. We decided to use this time to improve our product for guests. This next phase of the River Lodge refurbishment kicked off on the 1st of June. Part of it included extensive work being done to our bar/lounge area, fireplace, thatched roof and pool deck. Besides upgrades and refurbishment at River Lodge, the Spa and Wellness Centre underwent a few improvements too.
The South African bush awaits! The teams at Karula, Southern Camp, Buffalo Camp and River Lodge, are ready and waiting to welcome you to Kapama Private Game Reserve – a place away from time.
