A few weeks ago we announced the next phase of the Kapama River Lodge refurbishment project which began on 1st June. With phase two well underway, we are pleased to provide a sneak peek of the work that has taken place over the past 4 weeks.

Sections of River Lodge that formed part of this 2nd phase upgrade included upgrading, restructuring and vastly increasing the size of 33 of the 40 standard suites, from 35m2 to 50m2, as well as renovating the two Royal suites.

Along with the suites, extensive work is being done in the main lounge area where the floors will be renewed with imported ceramic tiles complementing the vibrancy, open spaces and airy design of River lodge.

The entire thatch roof is being rejuvenated and a number of walls re-plastered in keeping with the new look and feel of what River Lodge will finally become.

In addition, the ever-popular pool deck at River bar is being completely revamped utilising Garapa wood, a high density, very durable hardwood species that is ideal for use in exterior structures including decks.

Thereafter guests will be able to relax and unwind with a cocktail in hand and enjoy the African sunshine and unspoilt views of the surrounding bush.

We look forward to showing you further developments and progress of our upgrade as they materialize.
