My Office

Kapama Ranger Blog

maggieEvery morning as I sit in my “office” staring at my wall paintings, I realize again how fortunate I am. Other people get tired of looking at the same pictures all the time, but I am very lucky to have different ones every day, without having to spend one cent. Yes, this office with the paintings I’m talking about, is the African Bush, with the most awesome colors in the form of sunrises and sunsets. And just as I think it’s the most beautiful one ever, another awesome ‘picture’ appears, while changing second by second. Today was no different. As we left the lodge and headed east to go and look for the lions, we were met by another one of these amazing sights. I switched the engine off, and apart from the clicking sounds of cameras, we sat there in silence, listening to the birds chattering away, and appreciating what nature has given us. What a way to start a day! Although we never managed to find the lions, and having to change a flat tyre, we still had a great drive. Thanks to a mother Rhino with her young calf who kept us entertained for 20 minutes.
