EXPLORING the wild
experiences at kapama
Kapama has a variety of ways for you to explore our beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Our twice-daily game drives and educational bush walks are an essential part of the Kapama experience. Budding photographers can enrol in our two-day photography workshop to snap that perfect wall-mounted lion shot.
HOME TO AFRICA’S BIG 5
Twice-daily game drives are included in our tariffs for all our guests. Drives are led by a skilled guide and assistant guide on the same vehicle. Kapama was one of the first safari lodges to offer such a dynamic and qualified team to enhance guests wildlife experience. Encountering (any or all!) of the Big Five is highly probable during your Kapama stay.
There are hundreds of other species of animals to spot so the early morning and early evening game drives are the best way to start and end the day. With approximate 350 bird species recorded on the reserve, bird enthusiasts are also spoilt for choice.
Private game vehicles can be arranged. Click here to send us an email and let us know what your requirements are.
EXPLORING THE WILD ON FOOT
Our interactive and personal bush walks are included in our tariffs. There are a few of the finer things of nature that can be missed on a game vehicle so putting on your walking shoes and stepping into the reserve will get you up close and personal to interesting aspects of the wild unseen from the safari vehicle.
SPA & WELLNESS
Bliss awaits at our award-winning wellness centres. Indulge yourself in the finest spa treatments on the continent, work up a sweat with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and steam rooms, or take a plunge in our refreshing pool. a night under the stars
Let Kapama’s Romantic Sleepout platform submerge you in the abundant wilderness that spans over 15,000 hectares of Private Reserve.
The sleep-out venue is a private and secluded raised platform nestled deep in the reserve where guests can spend the night under the stars. A giant four-poster bed swathed in billowing mosquito netting gives guests an uninterrupted view of the stars.
Arrive at dusk and watch the golden light of the sunset across the African horizon while sipping on a sundowner. Nature’s sounds set the soundtrack for the peaceful evening to come.
