Two of our lion prides have recently grown with cubs being born in the last couple months. Lion cubs are often born as part of a litter of up to six siblings.

One day it was predicted to reach 41 degrees Celsius or 105,8 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, this is pretty hot but that afternoon as we were preparing for Game Drive, we noticed there was a storm approaching from the west where the mountains lay.

Buffalo are known to kill lions when lions try to hunt them and even go out of their way to charge and mob lions to make sure they are chased out of the area where there are small calves.

On safari, we encounter different types of predators. Most of the time they are lazing around during the heat of the day, beautiful and majestic and fear nothing. However, this can all change in a matter of seconds if a different predator is in the vicinity.

It is usually assumed that due to their massive size, with a baby Elephant weighing as much as 100kg and adults about four to six tons, these animals are easy to find.

Today, the 22nd of September is labelled as, ‘World Rhino Day.’ A day that is dedicated to raising awareness in order to combat the plight of an iconic animal.
