RIVER LODGE
The largest of the Kapama Private Game Reserve camps, River Lodge’s wide, open spaces and airy design are a constant reminder that you’re sleeping under the African sky. Besides the luxury five-star accommodation, River Lodge is more festive and social than our smaller, quieter camps, which is why young couples and groups of friends are often among our guests. For something more indulgent, make your way to the new 12m x 12m pool & cocktail bar. Whether it is a craft gin or classic cocktail in hand, relax on a poolside lounger, or escape the South African sun under a shaded alcove, as you take in the sounds of nature around you.
BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER
Explore and enjoy our authentic African cuisine around a roaring fire in the open-sided thatch Rhino Boma or the new dining experience Xitsumbeni. In this lavish and expansive dining area, guests can enjoy breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Xitsumbeni has its own bar with numerous lounge areas and fireplaces. With two large firepits, guests can star gaze while enjoying pre-dinner cocktails. Floor to ceiling glass stack doors open the lounge up to the surrounding bushveld where the sounds of nature can be enjoyed.
All dietary requirements are easily catered for.

Set in a dry riverbed in front of the lodge, dine under a star-studded African night sky.

33 deluxe suites
River Lodge’s spacious air-conditioned deluxe suites have uninterrupted views over the Big Five game reserve from any area of the room or private patio. The 60m2 suite is a perfect balance of rustic elegance, modern industrial and solid oak craftsmanship finish and up-to-date room technology. The full, en-suite bathroom comprises natural stone finishes, an open rain shower as well as a deep soaking bath with views of the Africa Bush and lavish amenities.

16 spa suites
Tucked away in the privacy of the russet bushwillow trees surrounding our African spa, these suites feature magnificent floor-to-ceiling glass doors and frameless windows that offer expansive views of the reserve – even from your bathroom.
For those looking to find their zen, the spa suites come highly recommended, as does a spot of yoga from the privacy of your patio while overlooking the magnificence of the bush. Each suite is equipped with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, coffee and tea-making facilities, a minibar, as well as a lock-up safe and international plugs.

4 FAMILY SPA SUITES
Perfect for big family getaways or holidays, these suites are wonderfully expansive, allowing for loads of extra room to spread out. With triple balconies, there is more than enough space and opportunity to bask in the quiet of the bush.
An en-suite bathroom offers privacy and each suite is fitted with air conditioning to enhance your family’s comfort. Tea and coffee facilities are available, along with a minibar. For peace of mind, there’s a lock-up safe for your valuables and for our guests from abroad, international plugs for convenience.
