Earth Day

Apr 23, 20202 comments

Earth Day is an annual event that has been celebrated for the past 50 years around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Each year Earth Day has a specific theme. Last year, this was “Protect Our Species” with the aim to draw attention to the rapid extinction of species in our world, which can be linked directly to human activities.

These included deforestation, loss of habitat, climate change, unsustainable practices, but most importantly trafficking and poaching. Although the theme for Earth Day 2020 is Climate Action, Kapama Private Game Reserve decided to once again focus on the Protection of our species.

Now more than ever our need to protect our wildlife and endangered species remains stronger than ever.

Even as South Africa remains in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the efforts of our Anti Poaching and K-9 units remain dedicated, to continue patrolling Kapama Private Game Reserve around the clock.

Our Rangers share with you their thoughts, passion and commitment around conserving nature and protecting our endangered wildlife.
