Wellness hand scrub and Berry Smoothie

May 21, 20200 comments

Each Wednesday over the next few weeks, Kapama Wellness Centre & Spa Manager Liezel Jamneck will take you on a Kapama Wellness journey as she shares her tips and wellness recipes with us.

Today Liezl has a wonderful homemade hand scrub as well as a delicious blueberry smoothie recipe that she will demonstrate.

We hope you enjoy them.

Frequent washing of our hands can be very drying on the skin. Our hands are the first area to display aging. Exfoliating your hands two to three times a week will increase the production of collagen and delay the appearance of wrinkles.  Here is a very easy scrap that you can make at home. You will need:

  •  half a cup of brown sugar
  •  half a cup of olive oil
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil

Mix all together

Then for the application:

Massage the scrub gently onto your hands and let it soak into your skin for just over 2 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

At Kapama Wellness Spas we use the sugar and oil scrub from BABOR followed by the repair hand cream.  For more information about our spas – click here

Liezl Jamneck shares one of her favourite blueberry and chai recipes. This smoothie has antioxidant properties to protect us from aging.

 You will need:

  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup plain yoghurt
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 teaspoons of chai seeds

Blend them all together

Garnish with a few extra blueberries and enjoy as a wonderful snack of breakfast.
